Family Ministries

Church Family Night

Families are invited to a time of good food and good conversation, every six weeks or so, on Fridays in the Parish Hall. This is an informal opportunity to get to know other families within the church community and a relaxed way to spend a Friday evening after a hectic week.

We host a dinner with food to appeal to both children’s and adults’ palates, then show a movie suitable for young children, while the older children and youth go to the Gym to play. Those without children at home are welcome–but need to be comfortable with joyful chaos and squeals of glee for most of the evening!

You can find information on upcoming gatherings in the weekly Pastoral Staff Letter e-mail (see our homepage), or contact Christopher De La Cruz, Director of Christian Formation, at cdlc@mapc.com.

Families with Young Children

Come to Families with Young Children, on the second Saturday of the month, September through June, unless that falls on a holiday weekend. We meet either on the Roof Garden or the 5th Floor, 10 am to noon.

Families with children ages 5 and under–with older siblings welcome!–are invited to join in this relaxed time of play, crafts and conversation. This is a great opportunity to get to know other families and have free time for kids–whether your child still needs to be in a carrier, or if the child wants to play on the playground! We’ll have bagels, fruit, coffee, tea and juice.

You can find information on upcoming gatherings in the weekly Pastoral Staff Letter e-mail (see our homepage, or contact Christopher De La Cruz, Director of Christian Formation, at cdlc@mapc.com.

Moms Night Out

Every couple of months, MAPC Moms get together for a night out, usually at an Upper Eastside restaurant. Moms Nights Out help create a strong community among MAPC moms with children of all ages, and provide a valuable opportunity to share our wisdom on various parenting issues, and perhaps even have a non-child-related conversation! Moms Nights Out are announced in the weekly Pastoral Staff Letter (see our homepage).
